Do it your way with N900 – LED and camera gadgets

2 June 2010Entry by

Welcome back in customization series! Today I have two new findings for lazy people (I feel sometimes I’m one of them, or I should say one of us ;) ).

First of all, there are times when I sit back watching a movie, without any clock visible in range and my N900 is charging somewhere on desk, beyond reach of my arms. If I can see it I can know what is the time (with 5 minutes accuracy). After installing Charging LED Clock your N900 will blink in the way showing current time. Blinks are ordered and have different lengths to indicate every digit in 24-hours clock. First blinks are the longest (one, two or no blink) and give the first digit of hour, middle length blinks indicate second digit of hour. After short pause there are more middle length blinks indicating 10 minutes periods after given hour and short blinks indicating additional 5 minutes. For example 21:35 (and  all the time untill 21:39) it will be: 2 long blinks (first digit of 21), 1 medium (second digit of 21), pause, 3 medium (for 30 minutes), 1 short (for additional 5 minutes).

Another good thing for lazy people (or those who want to something be done for them) is Lens Cover Reminder. It’s small addition to camera that will quickly tell you if you have opened lens lid. If the screen is on it will show small icon in notification area, if you try to lock screen it will remind you with vibrations. Great thing if you don’t want to clean the lens if you forget to close lid and put phone in the pocket.

And that’s it, you will remember about the lid and won’t need to get up for clock any more. So let’s get lazy and enjoy the day :)
