Everyday helpers – Kanban and 1up

7 August 2010Entry by

Today I’ve checked my installed N900 applications and found there is a lot of I don’t even use, because I like other app with same functionality. Have a look at previous Nokia N900 applications reveiews and let me introduce some alternatives and something new.

Kanban is word that originated in Japan in 1950s and it was originally used to name task board used in factories to improve efficiency. Kanban for N900 is simple checklist application. For checklist creation and usage it’s really good app, nicely fits in Einstein’s rule ‘Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler’ – easy to use editor, multiple lists creation is exactly what is needed in such application.

For everyday activities I sometimes need to count something and most of us probably remember situations when counting is disrupted by something and number pops out of mind and never comes back. This is the best moment to use 1Up application to help you with counting of anything. It displays number on the screen and simply goes up by 1 when screen is tapped, with additional options to reset and set some start values.

My N900 is literally filled with such applications, many of them were never used, but I think some of you may find own way to use them if one fits your needs.
