Hi

Ive just installed it. Its not available OTA in the UK yet so I went for a full flash. This included the new vanilla eMMC. You dont need the eMC but seeings as I flashed the phone last night I figure why not?

Anyway, down to business. I havent played with it much yet but I do notice a couple of things.

When it first boots up it takes ages! I thought it was in a loop but after a few mins it did work.

It IS faster than PR1.1, its noticeable straight away.

I havent managed to get the status menu viewable in portrait mode which I thought was supposed to be supported. Nor have I managed to customise the menu screen (Maybe I just havent played with it enough yet)

Switching between landscape and portrait mode is much faster.

everything else is more 'under the bonnet' so to say.

Im goonna go play with it now and see what programs work and what doesnt. Ill post more when i know.

Ok, ive tested this now and i have to say PR1.2 is rubbish!

cant click links in web unless you zoom!

app manager has NO SEARCH function! (how f****** stupid?)

VERY serious issues with menu screen if you use MyMenu(or other menu screen editors(IE no access to app manager, etc)) requires uninstall and reinstall to fix it!

why cant nokia just get it right? google and symbian got it right so why is nokia and maemo o far behind??? I thought PR1.2 would be an improvement but it isnt! its as bad as the symbion v2!!

poor show by nokia! i might flash my phone back to PR1.1 as at least that works!!! maybe ill buy a sony phone next tme!

NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS UPDATE!!! Get a grip nokia or youll loose your customer base! these phones (IE n900) are supposed to be 'cutting edge'? NOT if you cant get the software right! Id have waited another month if nokia could have made it better bu i guess they just dont care!!

UPDATES ARE MEANT TO FIX THINGS NOT CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS!! (The portrait mode in web, etc doesnt cover up the issues the update causes!!!)

I guess ill just sell my n900 and get an iphone! At least that works!!! or maybe just install Android on this and give a middle finger to meamo!!

Crap update and crap service! well done nokia, youve just lost yet another customer!!! WANKERS!!!

hi,not had much trouble at all with pr1.2...updated yesterday,,ota,im on vodaphone in uk..
I did have to disable all repositories in app manager to get enough space on roofts,when in app manager just open keyboard and start to type,it is a better search than on the previous firmware.
so far no major bugs. i will keep looking though..

No major problems with PR1.2 here either, although didn't like the new onscreen keyboard, but just recently found out that it's not a permanent fixture. It can be changed from within themes.
And when I tap on a desktop bookmark an ugly black square appears over that bookmark thumbnail.

Other than that, transitions are smoother and I was surprised to find PR1.2 takes up less root than V1.1.1 did, unless they've tweaked the memory management a bit to give us a bit more space in root.
