Hi
Can someone please explain to me why the battery on the n900 is SO SO rubbish? I use mine a lot for internet, apps, etc and the dam battery dies after about 5 hours! Why does Nokia think people only use it as a phone when its NOT, its an internet tablet and should have a battery to back it up! Ive tried a tool that charges the battery from a AA cell battery but that doesnt work! Why oh Why oh Why doesnt Nokia supply the phone with a battery that will last a FULL day when the device is being used as it was intended to be used?
Is it just me or does anyone else think this is very very dumb? My daughter is addicted to angry birds, so, if she plays it for an hour in the morning (Froim a fully charged battery) the battery is dead by mid afternoon!!
Is there a solution for this, IE a better battery? Ive not seen one. I thhink this is the biggest letdown for the n900. Its NOT just a phone, its a computer with phone cpabilities so why doesnt the battery reflect this?
Any suggestions are welcome!
Chris

I've gone through every one of your rants and I think you're overreacting. There is no phone which will survive long after you use it like you do.
A 1500mAh battery is included on the N900, the standard for high-end smartphones.
This is not dumb at all, you just expect too much from technology.

Funny that as my n97 mini lasts a LOT longer than the n900 and ive heard a lot of people complain about the battery life. Why make a phone that can only be used for a limited time due to battery life when its meant to be useable aas more than just a phone (and is advertised as an internet tablet and NOT just a phine??)??

Haven't tried the N97 Mini, but I remember that with my N95 if I use the Wi-Fi for long or play games for long, the battery goes down quick.
Internet consumes processing power, the display stays on for long, Wi-Fi antenna also.
I think it's pretty much normal.

N97 mini is a Symbian S60 5th Edition phone and N900 (as you may know) is a Maemo5 device. Symbian is much "lighter" (at least, on my opinion) compared to Maemo. And I had a N73ME before N900, it lasted me for 2 days with a bit heavy usage. And we're comparing 44mb ram phone & 220Mhz CPU against a 256mb+768mb of ram & 600Mhz cpu (with idle 250Mhz).[Although those specs doesn't affects the battery life as now the new ARM cpu's are more efficient) Also, the batteries are similar. If im not wrong, N73 had a 1320mAh battery. So, at least for me, N900 has a nice battery life. Check iPhone, in some ways, it can be even worst!
And N900 follows the line of N770, N800,N810 which were Internet Tablet PCs. So, N900is an Internet Tablet PC with phone functions. While N97 mini is a phone with Internet Tablet PC functions. Both are smartphones, but way different.

If you need more battery you can buy a mugen power battery online. It is suppose to last twice as long but it makes the phone twice as bulky. Also, when I bought mine it didn't let me see anything on my memory card for some reason, so I don't use it.
