HI everyone
As the Nokia N900 is more like a mini laptop than a mobile phone and the fact that we the owners will be venturing onto the internet almost daily will we not need some kind of anti virus software installed ? As you all know anyone who owns a laptop has all kinds of anti spyware, virus etc installed to protect their systems so what about us. Perhaps we already are protected in some way and if so can anyone explain how ? I recently tried to download spybot S&D but couldnt complete the installation for some reason . I must admit i have many friends with mobiles now who regularly access their Facebook accounts via their mobile phones and i havent heard of anyone with a virus etc on their mobile.

Dear Friend,

I too had the same concern and I contacted a leading anti virus company for the same.
Their reply was that as N900 is working on linux is secure than any other mobile OS.
More over they do not have a product whcih is compatible with Maemo.

Now as more and more people are buying N900 coming to use this mobile OS.
Yes, we may require some kind of protection later on.

with warm regards,
kidoo

I use Linux as my main OS on my computer (Ubuntu distro), and I've never felt the need for an anti-virus.

You shouldn't have to worry

Hi friends,

I am using Windows OS on my computer and now a days my computer got virus (Trojan virus). After that, in my computer's folder a new folder is automatically creating. My mistake i was connected my n900 to the computer and now i am facing the same problem with my N900 also. n900 shows the icon as unknown file. Actually in computer it is .exe file.

So, please help me. How can i remove the additional folder from the folder..

Regards,
Reji
