What does everyone think of getting our own Downloads section here for nokia-n900.com?

Might help N900 owners to find the right stuff...

It could work, but there's always the issue of repeating content posted on half a dosen sites, or infomation that's posted on official sources (both online and in the Apps Manager).

Maybie there should be a kind of fresh take such as working out which of a few different similer programs is most suitable for the N900 (or otherwise 'better'), and going with that as a 'recommended solution', or something off the wall I can't think about without my morning cuppa?

After all, it's one thing to provide a heap of things for people to wade through, and another to be concice, just compare the Apps manager on the N900 to the Ovi store, one you can do a basic search, the other, you have to scroll through the whole list every time!

I second wanderingeccentri on this. There's plenty of resources where to find software. But some "recommended"-section would be adequate.  Smiley

Thinking about it, and with reflection on Electric Goldfish's post, it might be an idea to be able to have official reviews into products, outlining the pros and cons. It's certainly knock the socks off the descriptions you currently get (or don't get!) when reviewing them for downloading, and might pull more people to the site as a reference.

Regarding the less users here, I wouldn't worry about it at all. We have just had the first initial buzz about the N900 as it was released, and as the companies that were in a flap about it produced their gods they prepared, and now we will have an initial lull, before programmers complete the programs they built for their own N900 they got when it was released, and as it gets more well-known to the public.
'Business' here will be steady now, and should pick up soon!
