Future vs. past – mSaber and Old School gadgets
Software catalogues are full of applications that doesn’t do anything practical, but they’re funny and for some nice to have. I’ve already mentioned xsnow for N900 once, now I have some gadgets for retro fans and Jedi knights
.
mSaber is quite old application and I have it installed from the very beginning of having N900 but I’ve never found good moment to use it in any way. It’s just gadget that displays small lightsaber on screen and when you launch it (by swiping or tapping the screen) move your phone as it was such saber it sounds like one. For Star Wars fan it may be nice but I’ve never fought with anyone with imaginary lightsaber, not enough geeks around
.

- Old School gadget
Old School was made to remind of really old times when phones had only monochromatic low-resolution screens and only thing you could do was calling and SMSing (up to 160 letters). This gadget shows simple low resolution picture with battery and network bars just like in very old phones, nice idea for screensaver.
Such gadgets never stay in my phone for long, I’ve used them twice maybe, another time to make screenshots, but it’s nice to know that developers have enough invention to make such toys, just to have fun and practice coding.
