Go Green! Get yourself an N900 Solar Charger

The following is an inspiration for why we decided to get ourselves a Nokia N900 solar charger. Read on if you’re interested…

Here at our Nokia N900 portal, we’re very environment-conscious. We care about all things alive: people, plants and N900s.

It is important to have consideration for ourselves when it comes to major issues such as global warming, seeing that as the sea level rises, it causes floods and submerges islands – and because we care so much about kangaroos, we can’t let Australia go down.

Getting back on the subject, my suggestion is that we stop wasting electricity generated by means which are not renewable – coal, etc. – and use the sun to power up our N900s!

We got hold of this solar chargers for the Nokia N900, but it also has a couple of adaptors so that you can charge your MP3 player or other phones.

How does it work? The product has photovoltaic cells which convert the energy in the sun’s rays into electric energy, and store it in a battery inside the solar charger  - so you are actually charging from a battery, not directly from the sun, as the voltage and current are different and not compatible.

For our technical guys, unfortunately we can’t get hold of exact specs, but we assure you that it behaves exactly as an AC charger, only that it is environment-friendly!
