Nokia N9 – successor of Nokia N900

14 June 2010Entry by

We already know that Nokia is preparing new mobile phone as successor of Nokia N900. Maemo 6 UI Framework was already revealed as open source project, the only thing that’s not certain is hardware that will run Maemo 6/MeeGo.

Some fresh news uncover more details on Nokia N9, or what is known as leaked RX-99 device. It is said to have 64GB of internal memory (twice as much as N900), capacitive touchscreen (so one step ahead after resistive touchscreen in N900) and full QWERTY keyboard. You can already see short Nokia N9 teaser video on youtube, The first video was already removed from youtube, but it’s easy to find copies by searching for Nokia N9 teaser, there is no official statement that it’s real, but also none that it’s fake.

I think that after releasing MeeGo 1.0 for netbooks some time ago Nokia will speed up with next Linux-based phone and I hope we can see official announcement soon. If rumours fit reality we can expect really good smartphone in the next few months.
