Silent on time – System Event Scheduler

23 March 2010Entry by

Sometimes I feel that my lifestyle (and I think that not only mine) makes me forget about some things, everyday activities. One of those activities is switching phone to silent mode at night and switching it back to normal when I get up. I usually use quite loud ringtones not to miss important calls or messages during the day, but I also like to sleep well, without interrupting. So what is the solution for N900?

System Even Scheduler

About a week ago I decided to try System Event Scheduler (available in extras-devel) and it became my way of having something done without memorizing. This application allows you to forget about switching profiles. Once you run you can add activities like switching profiles or going online/offline giving days of week and exact hour. It allows you to switch to silent mode at given time and given days of week. This way it’s easy to make phone silent at night time every working day and if you’d like to sleep a little longer on weekends without phone ringing early morning, this timefor Saturday and Sunday may be different.

To be honest I forgot about switching to silent when I go to sleep or to general profile in the morning, right now it’s automatic.
