Recently there are so many news and gossips regarding new mobile devices that I’m lost sometimes. This time leaked information described new Nokia N8 and it was shortly followed by official announcement. If you want to know full story have a look at PhoneReport but now let’s see how does it compare to N900.
First of all Nokia reveals N8 as superior multimedia device with full variety of cver colors, 12 megapixel camera with high definition video recording capability. In comparison with N900′s 5 megapixel it’s quite big leap, but I’m …

Mobile market is growing quite fast lately, manufacturers compete to win their share by releasing high-end technology with good operating system on board. Sony Ericsson dropped behind for some time, but haven’t said the last word yet, still being big player wit it’s recent Xperia X10.
Let’s see how does it look compared to N900. X10 runs under control of Google Android 1.6 (not 2.1 as some expected), hardware looks pretty reasonable as for todays smartphone, with 480×854 4-inch touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 384MB RAM and 8.1Mpix camera. You can say …

Some time ago I’ve begun a kind of series of theme reviews for N900. You may have already noticed some articles related with this subject, showing author’s favourite Maemo 5 themes in general.
In previous posts you can find mostly free N900 themes available in application catalogues. Sam posted his own Top Nokia N900 themes while I was writing about Matrix theme with my own wallpaper to make UI in general more personal. Recently I’ve decided to use a little more effort to give you more complete view on what you …

Although I just compared the Nokia N900 with the iPhone OS 4, I have to write outside my schedule about the new Nokia C6 unveil from today. The first impression to me was that Nokia brings a really nice looking professional smartphone to the market. You can discover a little similarity to the N97, only the keyboard is slided out like at the N900. It runs on Symbian S600 5th edition, got an 3.2 inch HD touchscreen, a four row keyboard and a five megapixel camera. These specks seems to …

FeedingIt is a very simple, very good RSS Reader. It is really easy to do the setup, and the feeds are shown very clear and well-arranged in a list. And the best thing, you can use it in portrait mode, which makes reading comfortable, especially on trips. Switch between the stories only with a finger wipe. It´s almost like reading a book.
First, after you installed the program from the Maemo download section, you have to add your favourite feeds in the setup section “Organize Feeds”. Tap on “Add Feed” and …

Although the iPhone OS 4 itself is not on the market yet (its release is predicted to the second half of 2010), its upcoming features can be already compared to the N900.
Steve Jobs introduced numerous improvements for the new version of the iPhone in the Apple headquarters in Cupertino on the 8th of April. But hold on: Most of them sounds very familiar to us N900 users.
The first of these new characteristics is quess what: Yes, Multitasking! Doesn´t we have this already on our N900s? And hasn´t Nokia always been …

Push Email is a function, that allows you to get messages instantly to your device, without retrieving the mailbox over defined time-periods. Most of these services have to be purchased before you can use them, or as the built-in Nokia Messaging provider has an free testing period. I also searched, googled the net for free services, but I did not found something suitable. Maybe someone of my readers can suggest some “free” services for pushing emails to the N900, although I don´t think that there is one ready for our …

Nokia announced, that Ovi Maps with free walk and drive is now available for the Nokia E71 and the E66. I know, that has nothing to do with our beloved N900, but some times ago it was released for the N86 8MP after Ovi Maps Navigation has been available on a small range of devices such as Nokia E72, Nokia N97 mini, the 5800 and the X6 since January.
So I just wonder, where is the version for the N900? As Anssi Vanjoki promised in the end of January it …

If you like games which makes your brain work a little more efficiently, which train your memory, coordination and ability of thinking logically you should like Brain Party.
This game by Hudzilla Games has a history already on other platforms, recently it was open sourced and released on Linux and subsequently on Maemo. Original game source code is pretty clean, so porting game to N900 was rather simple, it’s available in extras-devel right now. I expected good performance, stability and really nice gameplay from product with history like that and I …

WARNING: Using processor frequency tweak may significantly shorten battery life and may be dangerous for your device!
Screenshot comes from phonereport.info guide.
When I was looking all around the web for interesting news on N900 I’ve found informations about tweaking it to use more processor power. If you are familiar with overclocking you should know that it is possible to gain few Hertz in order to speed up processor, but it comes with cost of power consumption, stability if the change is big enough, or even so called ‘Sudden Northwood Death Syndrome’ …
