hi i have instal vnc viewer on my nokia n900 and real vnc on mu pc then i put ip address (192.168.100.1 : 5901)in my mobile which was shown on my pc vmc server but after that i could not connect my mobile.

The massage was shown server could not connected.

Hi there i brought the nokia n900 and got vnc in it but when i am trying to connect with my laptop it showing me the error on n900 “COULD NOT CONNECT TO SERVER ”
PLZ HELP ME OUT how to resolve this issue do i need setting in my laptop or what

Remember to put the port in the IP. Tipically, the port is 5900 and beyond (5901, 5902, …). You can see which port is the VNC server using in their log (/var/log…).
So you have to put:
IP:Port
Example:
192.168.1.35:5901

i have set up the server but when i try to view on the N900 it comes up on the laptop as it wants to establish a connection so i accept but then on the N900 it says can not connect to server

but, can i use it beyond my wlan?….cuz, the ip address which we give is our local lan address and not the main router ip which is used for connections from beyond the local…

If you are in a home network you will probably have two IP addresses. One is the network address of your own network, like 168.192.1.X, or something starting with 10.X.X.X, and then there is the IP address you get from your provider which you get from sites like: http://www.whatsmyip.org/. Use the networkaddress of your own network to connect from inside. The password will be required after the login to the server.

Hey!

I donT get it startet! i setup a server and can see an IP showed by the server, which differs from the one that my ip says, but i checked both on my N900…it doesnt connect! also i have to setup a password in ULTRAVNC but on my N900 there isnt a login for that?!

Please make a short tutorial for it! Its such a cool application…
